Three-Day Montréal by Bus

Day One Thursday or Friday
 

Depart school on a deluxe, climate-controlled and restroom-equipped motorcoach.

3:00 pm Arrive in Montréal and meet your VISIT CANADA guide at the deluxe Wyndham Montréal Hotel.
4:00 pm After checking in, your guide will lead you on a brief walking tour of adjacent at Complexe Desjardins and Place des Arts. Then you will walk or transfer to Place Jacques Cartier, the heart of Old Montréal where after a brief orientation, you'll be free for about an hour.
5:45 pm Walk to the Restaurant du Vieux Port for dinner amidst centuries-old stone walls and hand-hewn beams.
7:15 pm After dinner, walk to the King Edward Pier for a viewing of a very powerful IMAX Theatre film.
9:30 pm Meet the bus and transfer back to the hotel. Evening security begins at 10:00 pm.
Day Two: Friday or Saturday
8:00 am Walk or transfer to breakfast at Eggspectation, a trendy new bistro-style café in Old Montréal that has become quite popular, as much for its imaginative breakfast menu as for its unique and eclectic decor.
9:30 am After breakfast, you'll walk to the beautiful Musée d'archéologie et d'histoire de Montréal, where you will descend into centuriesold ruins dating back to the early days of the original French colony.
11:00 am Walk to the Notre Dame Basilica, the Jewell of Montréal for a tour of one of the most beautiful churches in North America.
11:45 am Meet the bus in front of the basilica and transfer to Place Montréal Trust where you will be free for lunch on your own.
2:00 pm After lunch, meet the bus on McGill College Street and depart on a city sightseeing tour that will include many points of cultural and historic interest.
4:00 pm The tour will end in the village of Lachine, where you will visit Parks Canada’s Fur Trade Interpretation, featuring a highly educational and very entertaining exhibit on the vital role that the fur trade played in Canadian history.
5:15 pm

Depart for la Sucrerie de la Montagne, and a memorable evening of French-Canadian folklore. Upon arrival, you will be driven to the sugar shack, a 100-year old restored barn large enough to welcome 600 guests, in a hay wagon pulled by two 2000-pound Belgian horses.

After an all-you-can-eat dinner of typical Québécois fare, you'll learn some traditional dances and folk songs, and your evening will end with a sugar-on-snow party, with real maple syrup and real snow (stored in the winter and served every day of the year).

9:00 pm Meet your bus and return to the hotel. Evening security services begin at 10:00 pm.
Day Three: Saturday or Sunday
8:00 am Bring your bags to the lobby and place them on the bus between 8:00 and 8:15 am.
8:15 am Walk with your guide to the Place des Arts Metro station and for a subway ride to a memorable breakfast at the Mövenpick Marché Restaurant at Place Ville Marie. There, during a very unique breakfast experience, you can choose from custom omelets, Belgian waffles, fruit crêpes and fresh pressed juices among many other items in a distinctly European environment.
10:00 am After Breakfast, take the Metro to the Parc Olympique and the Biodôme de Montréal.
11:15 am Upon arrival at the Viau Metro station, you’ll pause briefly for a group photograph outside the Biodôme.
11:45 am As you enter the Biodôme, you will walk down a 500-meter Nature Path where, and in a matter of minutes, you'll go from a hot and moist tropical rain forest to the Antarctic, and you will see 4000 animals from 200 species, including penguins, parrots, puffins and piranhas, beavers, bats, and ducks, alligators, otters, and monkeys, and hundreds of others.
12:30 pm

Walk next door to the Olympic Stadium, where you will ascend 556 feet on the funiculaire to the top of the world's tallest inclined tower for a panoramic, 50-mile view of Montréal, the St. Lawrence Seaway and the surrounding countryside.

On a clear day you can see all the way to the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York.

1:15 pm Transfer back to Place Jacques Cartier or the Eaton Center (depending on the weather), for lunch on your own.
2:30 pm Meet the bus and begin your journey back to the United States.
